Seth Rogan's vision of producing an R rated adult animated comedy with the production budget of a typical Pixar movie has finally been realized. And, after this grand passion project, how was it? It was ok. Yep, just ok.
I laughed quite a lot but it was always a soft chuckle and not the hearty laugh that leaves the back of your head sore. The jokes and puns were in abundance but only about half hit the mark.
I really liked the overarching themes. They had fun with classic stereotypes with all of the minority groups and included some really fun commentary on 'religious' dogma.
Over all, there was simply too much cussing, but the dumb puns were there to soften the language and try for a cheap laugh.
This is worth seeing, but I'm not convinced you need to see it on the big screen.
