This movie took me by surprise. Initially, I set out to go to a fun family movie with the wife and kiddos, and not really thinking I would like this one as much as I did.
Andy Samberg really came through. I'm a huge fan of Brooklyn 99 and this portrayal of the stork, Junior, is very similar to his Jake Peralta character I've loved over the last 2 plus seasons of Brooklyn 99. The jokes come fast and often. The dialog is great, but you have to appreciate Samberg to enjoy this one.
The animation style is average and there's no sing-a-long moments, and there are periotic seemingly random bits of though as we see what's transpiring within the varying character's minds (a la Family Guy style).
This movie scores well with me namely because I am a big Samberg fan and he shines through. As a plus, my kids we engaged and my wife likes this style as well. A huge win for the family overall. See it, so we can get more like it in the future.
