What a surprise. After watching this trailer, I expected cliché jokes, and phoned in performances, and boy was I wrong. Bryan Cranston is great. He plays an old school dad with a college age daughter who falls for the rich silicon valley guy (Franco).
Firstly, all the characters felt genuine in their portrayals in this movie. No one was phoning it in and the chemistry was just right between Franco and Cranston. Over the top eccentricity of Franco's rich character was actually fun (were as from the preview I thought would be annoying). The story is fine and the potty humor was well timed.
This is one of the better laugh out loud comedy's of the year. So, I highly recommend see this one.
